Serbian Spruce
Picea omorika
An Elegant Evergreen Gem. The Serbian Spruce stands tall and slender, featuring gracefully drooping branches, dark green foliage with a hint of blue, and silvery-white undersides on its flat needles, giving it a striking silvered appearance. This rare species, native to less than 12 square miles in Serbia, narrowly survived the ice ages. First described in 1875 and classified in 1877, it made its way to the Arnold Arboretum in Massachusetts in 1881, captivating horticulturists with its unique beauty and rich history.
